Critical care medicine is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and management of life-threatening conditions. These patients are managed in a specialized area called the Intensive Care Unit. These critically ill patients may have dysfunction or failure of one or more organ systems, including the cardiac, pulmonary, neurologic, liver, kidney or gastrointestinal systems. The Department of Critical Care Medicine provides world-class emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients in potentially life-threatening conditions requiring life support system and other intensive medical interventions.
All beds are equipped with Multi-parameter monitoring systems allowing close monitoring of patients both from the bedside and the central nursing station. We have a team of highly skilled and trained team of Doctors and Nurses to provide round the clock specialist advice and treatment. Comprehensive, multidisciplinary care is ensured by having multidisciplinary rounds, where experts from various specialities come together to decide what is best for the patient. A lot of emphasis is placed on areas like training, standardizing care through evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
Quality of medical care is strictly monitored by benchmarking on various clinical quality indicators and by having robust systems for process improvement in place. Our compassionate clinicians make a positive difference every day in the lives of the patients we care for.
