The dedicated Pediatric team focuses on the care and health of children till 18 years of age. Their clinical expertise, outpatient and diagnostic facilities and inpatient facilities in a safe and caring environment instils confidence and promotes healing. Paediatric Department provides a full range of tertiary pediatric care, health promotion and prevention programs for children and adolescents. The medical staff has responded to the changing needs of children requiring inpatient care by developing need-based clinical services.

The objectives of the department are:
To provide high-quality treatment for complex and serious diseases affecting children in addition to common paediatric problems. The department comprises of 5 units - 4 general paediatric and neonatal unit. In addition, there is 24-hour laboratory support(NABL certified), 100% voluntary blood transfusion services with facilities for component therapy.

Genetics Clinic Information
The Genetics Clinic is providing clinical evaluation, diagnosis, management and counselling facilities to patients with genetic diseases. In association with Manipal Life Sciences Center, we offer karyotyping, fluorescence in situ hybridization, molecular diagnosis and biochemical evaluation to various genetic disorders. The clinic has strong laboratory support from haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and pathology which may be needed for the patients with genetic disorders. The DNA diagnostic tests for thalassemia, sickle cell disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, haemophilia etc are provided for diagnosis of patients, carrier detection and prenatal diagnosis.
