Optimal glycaemic control can substantially reduce the risk and progression of diabetic retinopathy.

At Comprehensive diabetes specialty clinic we offer every patient an eye examination for early detection. This involves:

  • Vision check
  • Measurement of the pressure of the eyes
  • Examination of the anterior portion of the eye.
  • Dilatation of the pupils.
  • Retinal examination & Ophthalmologist Opinion

Nephropathy screening:

Diabetic nephropathy occurs in 20–40% of patients with diabetes and is the single leading cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). In order to ensure early detection, it is necessary to get yourself checked for any underlying problem.

  • Kidney profile check

  • Nephrology consultation

Vascular disease screening

Diabetic patients are more prone for Vascular diseases hence it is recommended to have a consultation with the vascular surgeon to assess the peripheral vasculature. The Vascular Surgeon assess the need for Doppler test in order to evaluate the peripherial vasculature .

A Doppler ultrasound test helps evaluate blood flow through the major arteries and veins of the arms and legs. It can show reduced blood flow in the major arteries. It also can reveal blood clots in leg veins. Doppler test is must for all newly detected diabetic patients.
